Technology at Darcy Road Public School
In a rapidly changing technological world, students at Darcy Road Public School are provided with opportunities to learn important skills in Information and Communcation Technology (ICT).
Our aim is for all of our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 to be prepared for a technologically connected world. When technology is integrated into high quality teaching and learning programs in a thoughtful and meaningful way, the learning experiences for all students is enhanced.
At Darcy Road, students have access to iPads and netbooks in their classrooms that can be utilised across all Key Learning Areas. We also have a fleet of robotics including Dash robots, Blue-bots, Ozobots and Spheros. Students are also encouraged to develop their coding skills through the use of devices such as Makey Makeys, Micro:bits and Arduinos.

GAT Coding Group Showcase
The Gifted and Talented Coding Group showcased their skills and abilities during a whole-school exhibition. This group of dedicated students met with teachers before school as they continued to develop their computational thinking skills and coding abilities.
Makey Makeys in the Classroom
Students were introduced to the Makey Makey. The Makey Makey is an invention kit that allows you to take everyday objects and combine them with a computer. By attaching alligator clips to any conductive materials, you are able to control the keyboard and the click of a mouse. Have a look at the following video of Year 4 students engaging with the Makey Makey.
