Dear Parents and Caregivers
Today's story is in regard to morning drop off and afternoon pick up of your children.
Kiss and Ride: Kiss and Ride remains the same. Parents can drop students off in the same Kiss and Ride on both sides of the road on Darcy Road. Teachers will be there to meet them. These students enter the school via Gate 1 on Darcy Road.
Buses: All buses remain the same and will use the same bus stops and the same colour route and bus number. Teachers will be on the street in the morning to greet students as they arrive off the bus and will also put students on the bus in the afternoon. These students enter the school via Gate 1 on Darcy Road.
Pedestrians: Students who walk to school are pedestrians. We ask pedestrians to enter the school using the Olive Street gates. That's Gate 3, Gate 4 and Gate 5. Students who cross at the pedestrian crossing on Darcy Road can use Gate 1 on Darcy Road.
Drive/Park/Walk to School Gate: Students and parents who drive and park and then walk to the school gate are pedestrians. We ask families to park in the surrounding streets where they can and walk to the Olive Street gates. We ask parents in this group to not drive and/or park in Olive Street. Olive street will now be very full of students and their families, and it is dangerous to have cars driving near children. These students enter the school using the gates in Olive Street, the same as pedestrians.
The school's routines remain the same.
- Teachers and Leaders supervise Kiss and Ride in the morning. Teachers from each grade will bring the students to Kiss and Ride in the afternoon.
- Teachers and Leaders will greet students off the bus in the morning. Teachers from each grade will bring students to bus lines as normal in the afternoon.
- Teachers will be on gate duty in the morning to greet the students who are pedestrians. Each grade will exit the school via a particular gate number in the afternoon.
#Kinder and Year 1 will exit Gate 3.
# Year 2 will exit Gate 4
# Stage 2 and Stage 3 will exit Gate 5
At this stage we are asking parents not to enter the school grounds to do drop off and pick up. We still need to work out how much space we have to use. We will greet your children on the street, and they will be able to enter the school. You will say goodbye at the gate. We will take your children to each of the places listed above in the afternoon. You will meet your children there.
Families need to work out the easiest way to drop off and pick up your children for your family. This will take us a few days to get used. Teachers and Leaders will be very visible and will be able to help you.
