Temporary School Information - Number 8

temp school information

Dear Parents and Caregivers

This temporary school information story is about parents coming into the school grounds.

As I'm sure parents realise Darcy Road is a big school and we have a lot of students, parents and community members. At the moment we need to start operating in the temporary school to judge just how much space we have. We need our students to become familiar with the new spaces and routines attached to those spaces. Because of this, at this time we are asking parents not to come onto the school grounds with their children. We will greet students at the gate in the morning and parents will say their goodbyes at the gate. We will bring students to the gates in the afternoon and parents will greet students there.

We postponed Gold and Silver Assembly last term so we could hold it this term and have an open morning at the same time. We are inviting parents to come to Gold and Silver Assembly and stay.  Come and visit your children's classroom and walk around our school to see the temporary school playground and classrooms. This will be a lovely morning in our school. Watch out for the Audiri message with a confirmed date inviting everyone to come to school.

We ask families to wait until the Gold and Silver Assembly Open Morning to come onto the school site.

What are some reasons parents can enter our school site?

  • Visiting the office for any enquiries you may have. Please enter the school grounds via gate 4
  • Collecting a child from sick bay.
  • An appointment with a staff member that has been arranged at a mutually suitable time.
  • Parent who use Before and After School Care are required to go to the school hall to drop off and collect their children. Parents please use gate 3 to do this.

We anticipate after Gold and Silver Assembly Open Morning we will be back to normal and parents will be able to enter the school.

I hope this information is helpful to our families.

Kind regards

Trudy Hopkins
