Temporary School Information - Number 5

Dear Parents and Caregivers

This story is about the first day of school next week - Monday 9th October. There is no Staff Development Day next term, so all students are expected at school on Monday 9th October. 

Our first school day and indeed the first two weeks in the temporary school are well planned. What will happen on the first day?

• Students will arrive at school using the drop off routines described in Temporary School Information Number 4. 
• Kinder and Stage One will wait and play at the Hall COLA.
• Stage 2 and Stage 3 will wait and play in the playground behind the hall.
• All students will be supervised.
• At 9am the bell will go and all students will be brought to the hall. 
• There will be a whole school assembly to greet our students back to school and to describe lots of information to them.
• At the end of the assembly each class one by one will go to their new classroom space.
• During the day teachers will implement lots of activities to teach the students about their new space, the playground, new pathways, the toilets, the office, the library and lots more.
• Teachers will also implement activities, so students learn the new location for school routines such as lining up, catching the bus, where is sick bay etc.  

Due to the timing of the completion of the temporary school, teachers will not have accessed the school or their classrooms until Monday 9th October. Plans have been made for students to participate in the above activities and their regular learning. Students will be working with their teachers while other teachers are unpacking. It will be a really fun day for our students to see close at hand the setting up of their classrooms. 

All students are expected at school on Monday 9th October. I'm sure they are as excited as I am about exploring our new temporary school spaces.  

I can't wait to see our beautiful students and introduce them to our new temporary school on Monday.
